As February comes to a close show some Sweet Stripes

These sweet girls are certainly "showing some stripes"! I couldn't resist doing this challenge for a chance to win a $50 Simon Says Stamp Credit Voucher!

 I found some striped paper and a sweet image and made one of my chunky cards. I used a little lace at the top and  ruffled up the edges. It was so fun and I love the stripes on stripes. You GO GIRLS. I hope I win, it was so fun to create.... and I wonder which one of my friends will recieve this card... On the back is stamped "Don't just live the length of your life, live the width as well." anon

 What can a sixty year old use.... what everybody can use TOILET PAPER!

A surprise Birthday treat day at work. I did pretty up the roll of paper with another pin I created.... just been on a roll with them (no pun intended).  Soon I will be on to something else. Deb liked it and wore it all day.

Going back is never the same

 Here is my first challenge for Collage Obsession, and also my FIRST try doing digital art... I used  print shop.  I so love paper, this is out of my comfort zone.

 Created this for a creative girly friend that just turned 50! Happy Birthday Jackie! Your surprise party was fun. 

Jackie said she is a greeter at her church on Sunday, and would wear it... I wonder what people will think!

 I saw this done to create a poem and  wanted to  give it a try... It was not as easy as I thought it would be.. I decided this would be a great prompt for creating some kind of art.  I think it would inspire something a little on the dark side, which is usually not my style. Wooly Nest

Yes, I do use the Wash Cloth Soap I sell on Etsy... when my soap is used up,I have a cozy cute Wooly Nest to hold a little treasure. I wonder if the birds would use it in building a nest if I left it outside in the spring?

Corsage for a friend

Had some winter fun making a corsage for a co-worker that was having a retirement happy hour party! Used the same vintage paper(1915)as the book I upcycled to a journal that I gave to her earlier.

for the flower, used one of my favorite face stamps, butterfly wings.... you can never have too many of them. You can't forget the crown and heart to top it off.The background petals were given to me by my artsy computer friend in Alaska. Stitched it onto a creamy wool.

What is in the bundle?

Here is a peek at what I put in the art bundle, it has been snowed on a couple times already, windy but it seems to be snug to the tree. It will be interesting how the contents will look when I rescue it in April.

Remember to Take the Camera

Another blessing seen today.
Today, a day off work, I had my 45 minute drive to my hairdresser for a cut.
Now Lyn is no ordinary person.... Lots younger than me, but we connect... she is blooming into creating art, such a kind person, always upbeat. We both love the same style of decor and she is getting into flower gardening! Anyway.... on this winter drive in bluff country of Southeastern Mn, from Fountain to Mabel... it was just amazingly beautiful. A morning with hoarfrost that covered every branch on the trees and between Harmony and Mabel.... I saw a Amish buggy on a side road and the horse had the most elegant stride I have ever seen. The backdrop of the frost covered landscape.... it was an amazing scene...
Reminder to Self: Always take my husbands nice camera on my drive to Mabel.

New Year Cheer

I have a co-worker friend that mentioned a Comic she likes... I wanted to show her the tape image transfer technique... so I made a Chunky tag for her.. She states that she always dressed her kids according to how warm or cold she was and it must be a family joke... the threads are suppose to depict a sweater. I will take it to work tomorrow.. it is nice to bring in the new year with a little surprise.
I make these tags to go along with my Artsy - Stash Journals... so the person has something to stick into their journal right away. I hope they enjoy my art made from the clutter on my art table. I sure have fun creating these funky collage art tags!

Kev's 4TH of July landscape project

Kev redid our landscape around the flag pole! He had wanted to do this for a long time, a star with flowers at each point.... he seeded grass around it tonight, so in a few weeks it will really look good... hopefully I will post another pic when the grass is up and looking good.
